Living Waters

An Invitation to New Life
John 4:7-14

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of
water springing up into everlasting life.

The living water that Jesus offered is new life through His Holy Spirit. Do you know that the One True and Living God, Creator of all the Universe, through the Spirit of His Son Jesus Christ wants to live in you? Imagine that. We were created to commune with and worship God, but sin separated mankind from His Holy Presence. However, the good news of the gospel is that the blood sacrifice of Jesus has made an atonement-a way for us to come back to the Father, and a way to save us from the destructive force of our sinful human nature. After Jesus died on the cross and rose again, He ascended on high and sent His Spirit to dwell in all who will believe on Him. His indwelling Spirit makes us vessels through which He can flow to touch and heal the lives of others, as well as make us more like Him. Will you believe? Salvation is a free gift and, as instructed in Romans 10:9, is received by confessing with your mouth and believing with your heart that God raised Christ Jesus from the dead. With His Spirit, that free gift of living water inside of you, now you, too, can flow free.
